The life sciences IDRFU (ZABAM) has installed a new Leica sp8 confocal Microscope., located at room no. 09 in Britannia Bldg.
The main features of our Leica SP8 microscope:
- Inverted configuration
- Dry x5,x10,x20 objectives; x40 water and x63 oil objectives
- LED fluo excitation source for visual examination
- The system is equipped with the following excitation solid state lasers:
405 nm 50 mW directly modulated intensity;
488 nm 20 mW;
514 nm 20 mW;
552 nm 20 mW;
638 nm 30 mW
- Prism spectrometer for detection of fluorescence in the range 400 nm - 800 nm. Freely tunable emission band with precision of 1nm.
- Two high sensitivity low noise HyD hybrid fluorescence detectors with possibility of photon counting mode.
- One fluorescence and one transmitted light PMT detectors.
- Fully motorized XY stage suitable for slides, Petri dishes and plates.
- High precision galvo Z-drive.
- LAS X Lightning, FRET and FRAP program modules with hardware FRAP booster.
