Research

The Manna Center Program in Food Safety and Security encourages multidisciplinary research in all aspects designed to have a major impact on food security.

Whether it be research into plant responses to a changing environment, research into the economic impact of foreign intervention in the developing world, or research into the nutritional needs of Israeli children.

The Program encourages this research through scholarships to graduate students, and through direct grants to encourage researchers, in both life and social sciences, to take an interest in food security, nutrition, and international development.

Much of the Food Safety and Security research is carried out through collaborations with other units in Tel Aviv University, such as the Institute for Cereal Crop Improvement, the Hartog School of Government and Policy, and the iCore-Israel Center of Research Excellence in Plant Responses to a Changing environment.
