Our goal is to improve human health through science. Our researchers address many of the major health challenges of our society, including cancer, aging, neurodegenerative diseases, infectious bacteria and viruses.
Our faculty members are breaking new ground in therapeutics and diagnostics, applying unique drug discovery approaches, and incorporating systems biology, nanotechnology and regenerative medicine. Twenty-seven laboratories headed by world-leading scientists provide an innovative work environment that stimulates imaginative and multidisciplinary research.
We combine approaches at the molecular level, the cell level, and the level of the whole organism. Our success relies on the multiple biomedical disciplines we apply and their translation into clinical practice.
