In a Ceremony held on July 11, the parents and wife of the late Zechariah Haber received his doctoral degree on his behalf. Zechariah, a doctoral student at the School of Plant Sciences and Food Security, fell on January 16, 2024 in Gaza and left behind a wife, three young children, parents, and three siblings
On July 11, 2024, Tel Aviv University awarded Ph.D. degrees to 321 research students. Among them were 10 graduates of the prestigious combined MD-PhD track, aimed at training future doctors to engage in research as well.
This year's ceremony was held with mixed emotions of joy and pride for the graduates' achievements, alongside sadness for the war victims and hope for the return of all 120 hostages.
Among the degree recipients was the family of Dr. Zechariah Haber, from the School of Plant Sciences and Food Security, who fell on January 16, 2024 in Gaza and left behind a wife, three young children, parents, and three siblings.
Dr. Haber's doctoral work focused on improving crop productivity under harsh climate conditions, in Dr. Nir Sadeh's laboratory. Zechariah's widow, Talia Haber, and his parents, Miriam and Aharon Haber, received the certificate on his behalf. To visit the touching
