The Oasis (Ein Gedi)
An Oasis is a place with available water in the middle of the desert.
The Oasis is a source of available water in the heart of the desert, all year, due to high level of groundwater, close to the surface.
In this unique habitat there is a constant population of Flora & Fauna. Some of the plant species you will find in this section grow in the Ein-Gedi oasis in the Judean Desert. many of them are tropical plants, for which Israel is the Northern distribution border, and they are very rare and endangered.
Among them we can see the Mallow Raisin (Grewia villosa), the Simple-Thorn Greenthorn (Balanites aegyptiaca) and the Desert Moringa (Moringa peregrina).
