Quality assessment

Next generation sequencing (NGS) applications require highly accurate and reliable methods for quality assessment.

Old measuring methods such as, NanoDrop or gel electrophoresis, are not sufficient for these advanced genomic technologies.

Using recommended gold standard methods for quality control (QC) will allow you to get the best results for your NGS experiment.

QC should be performed in several check-points during an NGS experiment:

1. NGS applications require high-quality starting material.

To asses DNA/RNA degradation, measure sample integrity using TapeStation or Bioanalyzer.

For DNA/RNA quantification, use Qubit fluorescence-based method.

2. In some protocols, intermediate QC checks are required during library preparation.

3. Before sequencing your libraries, measuring library quantity and size is essential to determine library Molarity.
