Academic Staff
Our researchers head vibrant research laboratories in a variety of areas: ecology, nature conservation, marine biology, environmental physiology, neurobiology, animal behaviour (ethology), phylogeny, faunistics and evolution
Research Areas
The research carried out at our School is varied and covers a broad spectrum of fields and subjects, from the molecular level to macro-ecology
Learning Zoology
The majority of our students select the ecology-environment track. The additional tracks available for graduate studies include genetics, neurobiology and biotechnology, among others
Living zoology
The unique quality of our School is reflected in the variety of activities that accompany research and teaching, with emphasis on integrating our research and our personal lives. We hold various competitions, organise parties and support the School’s research students’ committee
The I. Meier Segals Garden for Zoological Research
The Zoological Research Garden offers a unique centre for research in Israel, and is home to a large collection of endemic animals. Different studies can be carried out there at the level of the whole organism
The Steinhardt Museum of Natural History
The School’s collection of rare animals has been transferred to the Museum for preservation, enabling a variety of studies to be carried out in relation to biodiversity and distribution
