We congratulate Guy Siniko & Almog Hershko on their award of Dr David Firth grant for 2021
The aim of this grant is to assist in funding of research-related travel, academic advancement or career development of students or staff members studying insect systematics and taxonomy.

Guy Siniko is a PhD student in Prof. Shai Meiri's lab.
His research deals with the biological diversity of leafhoppers (Cicadellidae) in Israel, with emphasis on the genus Neoaliturus Distant, 1918, which includes ca. 30 species, 10 of which are found in Israel and some are agricultural pests.
Almog Hershko completes her first year of MSc studies in Dr Netta Dorchin's lab.
Her research focuses on the taxonomy and ecology of caddisflies (Trichoptera) belonging to the family Hydropsychidae in streams in Israel.
