The Shmunis School of Biomedicine and Cancer Research is a leader in research on diverse topics including cell biology, immunology, cancer research, computational biology, microbiology and biotechnology. The School is located at Tel Aviv University, The Faculty of Life Sciences and currently includes 26 leading researchers.

 

We have openings for two tenure-track faculty positions. The focus of this year’s search is on the fields of biotechnology (1 position) and microbiology (1 position). Candidates whose research topics are relevant to the school’s other research interests are also welcome to apply, but priorities will be set according to the above subjects.

 

Job requirements: The candidates must have a Ph.D degree., post-doctoral training, a strong publication record, and the potential to establish an innovative and independent research program, including mentoring of graduate students. A sufficient level of Hebrew is required for teaching.

 

Job description (Microbiology): We seek excellent candidates for a tenure-track faculty position in microbiology. Relevant research fields include: Parasitology, Virology, Bacteriology, Mycology and other Eukaryotic microbiology. All microbiology subtopics such as molecular biology, evolution, ecology, genetics, genomics, systems biology etc., are relevant and will be considered equally. The position can start as of July 2024, with latest starting date October 2024. The position is open to both young and established researchers.

 

Job description (Biotechnology): We seek excellent candidates for a tenure-track faculty position in biotechnology. Relevant research fields include but are not limited to: Tissue engineering, Protein and small biomolecule engineering, Synthetic biology, Novel biotechnological therapeutics, Immunotechnology, Bioprocess Engineering, Biological and bio-inspired materials, Nanobiotechnology, and Regenerative Medicine. The position can start as of in July 2024, with latest starting date October 2024. The position is open to both young and established researchers.
