Two-dimensional (2-D) electrophoresis is a powerful analytical technique capable of resolving thousands of individual proteins in complex biological samples. In cases where the resolution provided by larger-format systems is not required, the speed and convenience of a mini-format can be exploited.
The Multiphor T II Flatbed Electrophoresis Unit allows both the first and second dimensions of 2-D electrophoresis to be performed with the same instrument. Three second-dimension separations are run simultaneously on a single second-dimension gel, which is particularly useful for comparative studies, as all three samples experience identical separation conditions.
