Scheduled Maintenance - During University Vacation - 22/08/2022

As part of the energy upgrade project in the central data center at Computing and Information Technologies Division, we will perform maintenance on Monday, 22/08/2022 during this time all the computing systems (and the entire building of the computing wing) will be disconnected from the electricity.

The purpose of the maintenance is to increase the capacity of the data center to the maximum possible, for the benefit of scientific computing (HPC).

Preparations for this maintenance will begin on 21/08/2022 at 20:00. Starting at this time we will gradually take down research systems, non-essential production systems, test and development systems, and then into the early morning we will take down the entire production system, and finally the storage and communication systems.

At 08:00 in the morning of 22/08/2022 the electricity will go down. The power maintenance will last for several hours (estimated at 6 hours).

After completing the electrical maintenance and acceptance tests, We will turn the computing system back on in the reverse order above.

We expect a full return of computing services into the night between August 22nd and 23rd.

During the maintenance, all computing services will be disabled, including communication on campus, to the Internet, ADSL/cable services of the university, VPN services, core systems (Moodle, students, ERP, university websites and the registration website), Email services, Websites, access to files, Scientific computing clusters (HPC) and all other computing services.
