The marine environment presents unique conditions that shape a rich world of animal life.
In comparison to terrestrial environments, the marine environment is less familiar to us, increasing the possibility of discovering new species and processes, some of which may not be known from other environments.
The research engages with both familiar groups such as fish and corals, and with other groups for which our knowledge is more restricted, such as soft corals, sponges and tunicates.
The processes that we study include invasive species, the exploitation of natural resources, seawater filtration, the biomechanics of foraging, controlled sustainable fishery and more.
