Cognition and Behavior

Behavior and Cognition lie at the foundation of many complex biological systems. They span multiple levels, ranging from behaving nematodes to rodents to humans.  Technological advances enable us to track behavior and cognition of behaving animals and humans and link them to neuronal activities from the entire nervous system to specific circuits.  We can simultaneously measure the neural system and behavior to reveal their complexity. In Neurobiology we study multiple levels of research to be able to reveal the underlying neural substrates of behavior and cognition.
