You may be surprised to hear that it is possible to “put out a contract” on cancer cells by means of viruses.

 

Cancer cells develop the ability to flee and hide from the immune system. While developing these capabilities, their ability to fight against viral attack is weakened. Oncolytic viruses take advantage of this loophole to kill the cancer cell and expose the tumor to the immune system.
