Setting up MFA in tauex accounts

Below you will find the computing division's instructions regarding the activation of multi-factor authentication (MFA) for security in TAUEX accounts for employees and academic staff at the university.

Please note that the MFA mechanism will be applied comprehensively to all users in the faculty on Sunday, June 4, 2023

Important notice for gmail users: It is no longer possible to send mails as tauex through gmail using MFA! The problem is with Google and we don't know when or if it will be fixed. We are reminding you that this way of work is not supported!

Setting up MFA in tauex accounts

Greetings,

For the purpose of improving the level of cyber security at the university has decided to protect our e-mail accounts. The computing division added an additional layer of protection using MFA when you login into your mailboxes, on TAUEX accounts.

This is a solution that will prevent a foreign party, even if he managed to obtain the password, from entering our mailbox.

In order to activate the MFA, a simple and one-time operation must be performed.

The action will result in receiving an identification code.

See below guides on login methods and other solutions:

You must make the change starting on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at 11:00AM.

There is no point in doing it before the specified date.

At that date, the request for the MFA will also begin to appear in your e-mail box (Outlook) and it will not be possible to enter your e-mail without it.

You can get support from the system coordinators in the faculties or at the support center of the computing division.
